Korean pop star BoA’s American debut song Eat You Up is leaked on MySpace. The song was uploaded on a MySpace account, but I believe that it’s not an official account for a few reasons.
The major clue is that the account has cited that BoA is from Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) instead of Republic of Korea (South Korea).
Well, it’s either a fake account, or that her PR team is making a huge blooper here. Seems like SM Entertainment is not making much noise about it though… testing online responses perhaps?
[Update] The full MV is out. I was harsh on its teaser was announced, and I haven’t changed my mind. Nothing personal; I still think BoA is a great entertainer, but the song doesn’t please me.
The music is just ok, and the lyrics sucks. A reader told me that Eat You Up is a slang for oral sex in the states; the lyrics seem to fit the suggestive title rather well, be it intentional or not… it’s pretty ambiguous obviously. I wonder if BoA knows exactly what she is singing. Check the lyrics [hat tip to reader James].
[Update 2] The Myspace account is real. Her company obviously needs to hire some better PR person to do the job.
